Dentistry
ACRS offers routine dental procedures. Because our patient won’t sit quietly with their mouths open for these procedures, dentistry requires full anesthetic. First we scale the tartar and calculus from the surface of the teeth as well as below the gum line, then we polish the teeth to remove micro-pits in the tooth surface created from the scaling process and finally we apply a sealant to the teeth (Oravet) to retard the formation of dental calculus.
We are also able to perform dental extractions and then apply a bone matrix (Consil) into the extraction site to promote bone growth in the extraction site. This bone matrix is used to prevent bone loss around the extraction site, which may weaken the jaw bone leading to fractures later in life.
For more complicated dental procedures such as root canal, periodontic work, restorations, crowns and orthodontics, we utilize board certified veterinary dentists on a referral basis.
As with our surgeries a written estimate is available upon request.
